Samuel Edward Brode Born Oct. 26 1902 at Annelly, Kansas. Ned, as he was familiarly called, attended country school and later took a four years course at Polytechnic School in Los Angeles, specializing in architecture. He [worked] for contracting firms for fifteen years and then suffered for eight months in Orthopedic Hospital with Infantile Paralysis (Polio). In recent years he has operated a filling station and store near Escondido [Calif.]. He married Aug. 3 1931 Mary Colby Smelser of Riverside, Calif. [Later moved to Santa Barbara.] |
