Robert Monroe Brode He studied Civil Engineering for two years at Cornell University, 1939-1941. Enlisted as USNR Petty Officer 1st Class Feb. 27, 1942, promoted to Ensign CEC, USNR, June 1 1943, promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade August 1, 1944, discharged Dec. 27 1945. 29 months overseas duty with the 37th Naval Construction Battalion at Noumea, New Caledonia; Guadalcanal; Ondonga; New Georgia; Green Island; and Okinawa. Awarded battle stars for Solomon Islands and Bismark Archipelago campaigns. Since his discharge from the Navy he has been Superintendent for the W. M. Brode Co. on the construction of railroad bridges in Ohio and W. Va. and is Asst. Treas. and Director of the company. Member Presbyterian church, Beta Theta Pi fraternity, Masonic Lodge and Elks. |
