George Barnett Brode He studied Civil Engineering at the Case Institute of Technology, receiving the B.S. degree in 1905. Associated with the W.M. Brode Company, 1905-1947, as Secretary and later General Manager, doing extensive railroad, bridge and highway construction in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and West Virginia. From March 1918 to July 1919 was Captain Q.M.C. U.S. Army, Construction Division, constructing Embarcation Depot, Charleston, S.C., extensive dock and warehouse facilities in New Orleans, La., and camp facilities at Camp Benning, Ga. Served on Board of Public Affairs, Newcomerstown, Ohio, 6 years, School Board 8 years, Director First National Bank 1905-1936, President since 1936. Member Presbyterian Church, 32nd degree Mason and Shriner, Elks, Beta Theta Pi fraternity, Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. |
